The Prophet said to pray after entering the mosque.

Our Islam Desk: The mosque is the house of Allah. The best place in the world. Ibadat-Bandegi and Amal-Azkar are performed in the mosque. It is considered as the center of Muslim society. Muslims come to the mosque five times a day to attend the court of God. If you want to enter the mosque, you have to enter with purity and cleanliness. It is not permissible to enter the mosque with impurity.

The most favorite place is the mosque

In a hadith narrated by Abu Huraira (RA) about the superiority of mosques, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, ‘The most beloved place to Allah is the mosque and the worst place is the market.’ -(Muslim, Hadith: 1414)

In addition to giving importance to the issue of purity in the mosque, one of the other things that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave importance to is offering two rakat prayers upon entering. Which is called Tahiyatul Masjid or Dukhulul Masjid.

Description of Tahiyatul Mosque in Hadith

Prophet gave special importance to this prayer. It is Sunnah (nafal) to pray two rakat tahiyat al-masjid while entering the mosque. -(Al-Fiqhu ala Majahibil Arba’a, page 1020)

Narrated in the hadith, Rasulullah (SAW) said, ‘When one of you enters the mosque, he should not sit until he has prayed two rak’ahs.’ -(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 1167)

Narrated by Jaber (RA), Sulaik Ghatfani (RA) came during the sermon of Rasulullah (SAW). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him, did you pray two rakats before coming here? He said, no. He said, read two rakats briefly. -(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1114)

Hazrat Abu Bakr Ibn Abu Shayba (R.A.) … Narrated Abu Qatada (R.A.), He said, I went to the mosque and the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sitting in front of the people. He said, I also sat down. The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, asked, “What prevented you from praying two rak’ahs before sitting?” I said, O Messenger of Allah! I saw you sitting and people were also sitting. Then the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “When one of you enters the mosque, he should not sit before offering two rak’ahs of prayer.” – (Muslim: Effah 1527)

Tahiyatul Masjid which should be read all the time

According to the Hanafi Madhhab, a worshiper who enters the mosque for any purpose and is in a state of purity will perform Tahiyyat al-Masjid. However, if one enters the mosque at a time when prayer is prohibited in general or when the Iqamat of the obligatory prayer congregation has begun or the imam has started the obligatory prayer or the khutba has begun, then the tahiyatul will refrain from praying in the mosque. (Al-Fiqhu ala Majahibil Arba’a, page 1020)

The rules of reading Tahiyatul Masjid

Tahiyatul Masjid should be performed according to two rakat and normal prayers. Only at the time of Niyyat, Niyyat of ‘Tahiyatul Masjid’ should be taken. However, if a person performs two rakat prayers after entering the mosque and does not intend any specific prayer, then it will be considered a tahiyatul mosque. (Sacrifice, Namaz chapter)

Why read Tahiyatul Mosque

Dr. Tahiyatul mosque realization. Salih Al-Munajjid said, “At the time of entering the mosque, two rakats of Tahiyyat al-Masjid must be performed to show respect and dignity to the mosque. In fact, through this, the believer declares and initiates his allegiance to Allah after entering the mosque. (Silsilatul Adab, page 16)
